Doctors
Dr Stephen Locke
The senior partner at Trowbridge Health Centre, Dr Locke qualified at St George’s Hospital Medical School, London in 1990, trained as a GP in Bath, and joined Adcroft Surgery in 1994. Dr Locke is a GP Trainer; this means he's involved with training doctors to become General Practitioners. Often he may have another doctor sitting in the consultation with him so they can learn from the experience. Dr Locke is a Clinical Director of the Trowbridge Primary Care Network, which is working at developing new services for the patients in Trowbridge. Dr Locke has special interest and expertise in caring for patients with cancer and respiratory medicine, and usually works at the practice Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Friday.
Dr Harry Bimbh
Dr Charlie Bundy
Dr Bundy gained much of his experience working in Australia and New Zealand. On returning to the UK he completed his training to become a GP and has worked at Adcroft ever since. Dr Bundy has expertise in minor surgery and joint injections, as well as being actively involved in clinical research, and usually works at the practice Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.
Dr Toby Cookson
Dr Cookson worked for three years in New Zealand before joining the practice in 1998. His general interest is Neurology and he is involved with the management of the practice. He does minor surgery in the practice and enjoys all types of primary care. Outside work he enjoys his family and riding his bikes. Dr Cookson usually works at the practice Monday- Thursday.
Dr Carol Sheppard
Dr Sheppard graduated from Southampton in 1990 & is married with 2 children. Her special interests are Diabetes, Womens health and ENT, she usually works at the practice on Monday Thursday & Friday.
Dr Dickon Ponty
Dr Ponty and has previous experience in elderly care medicine and Gastro-enterology, he works at the practice Monday, Tuesday & Friday.
Dr Alice Gardner
Salaried GP: Dr Gardner studied medicine at Oxford University, graduating in 2006. After junior doctor years in Bristol, she joined the Bath GP Training scheme and was a GP trainee at Adcroft Surgery. Dr Gardner enjoys the variety of general practice and seeing patients of all ages, and has special interests in women's health and medical education. Dr Gardner is a GP Trainer and one of the Bath GP Training Programme Directors. She provides coil and contraceptive implant clinics. Outside work, she has two children and enjoys gardening, cycling and spending time by the sea. Dr Gardner usually works at the practice on Mondays and Tuesdays and does education work for some of the rest of the week.
Dr Carolyn Foggett

Dr Jemma Fryer
Salaried GP: Dr Fryer studied medicine in Newcastle upon Tyne and moved to the South West following time working as a doctor in Borneo and New Zealand. She trained as a GP in Bath and now works as a retained GP at the practice alongside working in Army Officer recruitment. Dr Fryer usually works at the practice on Wednesday & Thursday.
Dr Ann Davies
Salaried GP: Dr Davies is married with three children and her special interests are Paediatrics, ENT and Psychiatry, she normally works at the practice on Wednesday & Thursday.
Dr Howard Tansley
Salaried GP: Dr Tansley spent time in New Zealand working in A&E and as the doctor for a ski area. He has had experience in paediatric surgery, trained as a GP locally and has an interest in practical procedures and minor operations. Outside work he enjoys spending time with his young family. Dr Tansley usually works at the practice Tuesday-Friday.
Dr Tim Argyle
Salaried GP, normally works at the practice Monday-Wednesday.
Dr Sarah Yates
Salaried GP, Dr Yates qualified in Southampton in 1997. She initially worked in Dorset and then Sussex, but completed her GP Training year in Bath in 2002. She then worked as a Salaried Doctor in Horley, Surrey, for 14 years. In 2016 she moved back West with her husband and 4 children. She has a special interest in psychiatry and does some work at the substance misuse service. Outside of work she enjoys writing and time with the family and young dog. Dr Yates normally works at the practice on Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday.
Dr Kate Jackson
Salaried GP: Dr Jackson trained and worked as a GP in Sheffield, before moving to London. She worked as the Local Medical Director at her surgery for 10 years. She was responsible for shaping clinical service provision, maintaining and monitoring clinical standards, clinical governance and training. She moved to Wiltshire to find a better work/ life balance. She now works 2 days per week, and looks after her two small children. Dr Jackson normally works at the practice Monday & Wednesday.
